Learn more about how we use text messaging to communicate with you, and how you can start and stop messaging from us.

Receiving texts from USAA

To get text messages from us, you need a device that allows for text messages and a data plan. Standard message and data rates may apply.

If you have an international number, you may still be able to receive certain texts. For those messages, individual data rates may apply.

Types of messages we send

We’ll send you informational texts and fraud alerts, based on your alert preferences. To learn how we protect your information, read about privacy at USAA.

Informational Texts

These are messages we send you about activity on your accounts, links to bank statements, changes in application status and more.

Fraud Alerts

You're automatically enrolled in our 24/7 fraud alerts program. If we notice any unusual activity on your accounts, we'll send you a message to check if everything’s okay.

How we send messages

We use SMS short codes to send you messages through supported mobile carriers Opens in a New Window. These carriers aren't liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

Affiliates may send messages about your products.
