USAA Moderation Guidelines

Our goal is to provide substantive commentary for members to post their thoughts and opinions regarding USAA products, services, news and advice. By moderating submissions, we endeavor to create a space where members can exchange intelligent and informed commentary that enhances the quality of information on usaa.com.

Please review the usaa.com Site Terms, Privacy Promise and Online Information Practices regarding your use of this site.

While most comments, content and direct messages (collectively "Submissions") will be posted if they are on-topic and not abusive, moderating decisions are subjective. We will make them as carefully and consistently as we can using the proscribed guidelines below. Because of the volume of member Submissions, we cannot review individual moderation decisions with authors and generally will not alter a comment once it is posted, although comments may be modified to prevent inappropriate language or content.

Submissions which do not relate to the community in which they are posted may be removed. Submissions which contain personally identifiable information or specific inquiries related to a member's account will be removed and the author may be directed to a secure form for further discussion of the inquiry. Submissions will be periodically archived to ensure up to date content in the community.

We value thoughtful Submissions representing a range of views that make their point in a polite and constructive manner. We make an effort to protect discussions from repeated Submissions- either by the same author or different authors. Submissions may be modified to prevent inappropriate language or content, but otherwise will not be edited. All Submissions are subject to review and authors should not post or send personal information about themselves or others in this community, including but not limited to: comments, videos, images, and direct messages.

  4. infringes or violates any right of a third party including: (a) copyright, patent, trademark, trade secret or other proprietary or contractual rights; (b) right of privacy (specifically, you must not distribute another person's personal information of any kind without their express permission) or publicity; or (c) any confidentiality obligation;
