Flood losses caused by the overflow of lakes, rivers, or unusual and rapid accumulation of surface water are not covered under your homeowners policy. However, flood losses are generally covered by a National Flood Insurance Program® policy through USAA. To find out if you have this coverage, log on to usaa.com. If you don't currently have this coverage, you can get a quote by calling 800-531-USAA (8722). Keep in mind the policy doesn't take effect until 30 days after you make your first payment.
