Important things to consider during AEP

When reviewing your options during the Medicare Annual Enrollment period there are several important things to consider when making a selection for the new year.

  • Prescription Drug Coverage

Year-to-year carriers may change the drugs they cover and their costs. You should review your current plan yearly to make sure your prescriptions will be included next year.

  • Plan Availability

Carriers can also add or remove plans from your area. Make sure that your current plan will still be available if you want to stick with it. Also review the other options to check if any new plans for next year might be more suitable.

  • Provider Availability

Most providers align themselves with different carriers and plans. If you have a doctor, specialist, provider or hospital you prefer, check that they'll be in your plan's network for the next year.

Add your information on our plan shopping page to easily compare the prescriptions you take, and providers and pharmacies you prefer against the plans that are available in your area. USAA offers a variety of plans through Humana and Aetna. Log onto our Get Started page to review or create your list.
