Text Savings retirement FAQ

Why we’re making changes

We have high standards when it comes to the products and services we offer. So we regularly review them as our members’ needs change.

In some cases, that means retiring features like Text Savings.

What will happen to my current Text Savings transfers?

We'll stop the automatic transfers and daily text messages on March 14, 2025. Please note, you’ll no longer be able to send text message commands to USAA Text Savings.

Your current enrollment will be automatically deactivated, but you can unenroll at any time before then.

Transfer tools that can still help you save

Transfer funds

You can customize how you set up automatic transfers and build your savings. Select the account, amount and frequency for your transfers.

Recurring transfers

We’ll move part of a recurring deposit into your savings. You decide which deposits to use and how much to transfer.

Other ways to save

Savings Tools help take the effort out of saving. These additional options can move money automatically into your savings account.

ATM rebates‍ ‍‍ ‍ See note 1

When we reimburse you for ATM fees, we’ll send the money to your savings.

If you have to use an ATM outside the network, we'll refund you up to $10 in ATM fees per statement cycle.

Tax refunds

Set the amount you want to save from your tax refund.

When your refund arrives, move some or all of it into your savings account.
